My Favorite Cleanser – Black Girl Approved

Let me preface this post by saying, this cleanser is not for everyone.

I know this because I’ve constantly recommended this cleanser to friends over the years and received mixed reviews in response.

This cleanser is however for my dry and sensitive skin friends or for those of you whose skin cracks and peels in the wintertime.

E.L.F. Cosmetics has always been a brand that I’ve appreciated because some products are quality and all the products are inexpensive.

When they launched a skincare line, I had already been into k-beauty and pretty much had products that I love. Honestly, k-beauty tends to make up most of my routine apart from the cleansing step.

In terms of cleansers, I don’t feel like a lot of the ones I tested out were hydrating enough for my skin.

I like my skin to feel like skin. That’s a key point here.

~ Cleanse your skin without stripping your barrier ~

Applying the Bounce Back Jelly Cleanser truly feels like hydrating your skin. There isn’t anything stripping or depleting about this cleanser.

When you squeeze it out, it has a bouncy texture that resembles most jelly cleansers on the market. When you add water, this cleanser does not foam up at all, which I believe is part of why it feels so hydrating on the skin.

This cleanser has an ingredient list full of hydrating and soothing ingredients: coconut fruit juice, aloe vera, panthenol (vitamin B5), and cucumber fruit extract.

It utilizes PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, which is a gentle cleansing agent that also double as an emollient (restorative ingredient, similar to what you find in a moisturizer). This means no post-cleanse dryness or sensitivity.

It is truly the most skin replenishing and barrier friendly cleanser that I’ve ever used. It’s definitely black girl approved. 💁🏿‍♀️ ✔️
